Welcome to Apollo Centre

Opened on the 15th of November 2024, we are immensely proud to introduce the Apollo Centre, the first Primary Alternative Provision in Solihull. Apollo represents a vital step forward in supporting young children who face challenges in mainstream education, offering a nurturing environment where they can rediscover their confidence, develop essential skills, and build brighter futures.

Our Vision
Apollo is more than a school; it is a lifeline for primary-aged pupils. We provide short-term, tailored support designed to meet the unique needs of each child, with the ultimate goal of preparing them to thrive in mainstream education.

Purpose-Built for Children
Every aspect of Apollo has been carefully designed with children’s needs in mind. Our facilities include:

  • Breakout Areas & Calming Spaces: Creating safe environments to reduce sensory overload.
  • Sensory Rooms & Forest School: Engaging children in meaningful, therapeutic, and hands-on experiences.
  • Specialist Resources: Dedicated PE spaces, thematic curriculum approaches, and flexible learning pathways.

Personalised Support
Apollo is staffed by a highly experienced team of teachers, teaching assistants, and visiting specialists, providing:

  • A play therapist and a cognition and learning specialist.
  • Small class sizes of up to five pupils.
  • Individualised learning plans and tailored interventions

Our approach focuses on social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) development, ensuring children learn self-regulation, confidence, and effective coping strategies.

Supporting Families and Schools
We work closely with families, caregivers, and schools to provide seamless transitions both into and out of Apollo. Our process includes:

  • Outreach: Home and school visits to understand the child's needs before they join Apollo.
  • Transition Support: Trial weeks and gradual transitions tailored to each child’s readiness.
  • Ongoing Guidance: Creating bespoke ‘pupil strategy documents’ to equip mainstream schools with strategies that support the child’s continued success.

Celebrating Success
The launch of Apollo has been met with widespread support. The Mayor of Solihull, Shahin Ashraf MBE, described it as "the most important thing she had done all week," recognising the life-changing impact Apollo can have for children who need a second chance.

Parents, educators, and the local community have praised Apollo’s child-centered approach, as reflected in this comment from a local authority representative:
"The child-centric approach and the involvement of parents was, quite simply, outstanding!"

Join Us in Transforming Lives
