About Us
About Our Alternative Provision Pathways
At Solihull Alternative Provision, we provide a continuum of support designed to meet the needs of children and young people at different stages of their educational journey. Our centres offer early intervention, assessment, targeted support, reintegration programmes, and longer-term specialist placements, ensuring every pupil receives the right support at the right time.
Tier 1 Athena CentresOur Athena Centres provide short-term intervention programmes for pupils who need additional support to re-engage with education while remaining in their mainstream school. Through personalised coaching, wellbeing support, and targeted interventions, pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, and strategies for success before transitioning back fully into their school environment.
Tier 2 Nebula Pathway
Nebula Pathway offers a structured 12-week intervention for pupils experiencing more significant barriers to learning. In a nurturing and supportive setting, pupils receive intensive academic, social, emotional, and behavioural support. The programme focuses on rebuilding engagement, strengthening resilience, and preparing pupils for a successful return to mainstream education. Students access a broad curriculum where thematic links are made between subject knowledge/skills and their own personal social and emotional development.
Tier 3 Transitional Placements and Y11 Orbital
Our Tier 3 provisions support pupils who require longer-term alternative education due to complex needs, exclusion, or significant disengagement from mainstream schooling. The curriculum is built around SELF development, meaningful learning, and future you, ensuring pupils achieve qualifications, develop resilience, and secure positive post-16 destinations. The curriculum balances core subjects alongside carefully selected option choices to ensure high aspirations are set alongside tailored support. Interventions are personalised and monitored to ensure progress is made. Our commitment is that every young person leaves with the confidence, skills, and pathway needed for future success.

Its focus is on early intervention, emotional wellbeing, communication, literacy, numeracy, and personal development. By working closely with families and schools, Apollo helps pupils develop positive attitudes towards learning and supports successful reintegration into education.
