At Solihull Academy, we recognise that regular attendance and punctuality are crucial for our students' academic success and personal development. We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging and connectedness, ensuring every student feels supported and valued. To strengthen our partnership with parents and carers, we are hosting dedicated Attendance Support Sessions this June.
Upcoming Attendance Support Sessions
We warmly invite parents and carers to attend one of our upcoming sessions:
-
Wednesday 11th June 2025, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Solihull Academy
-
Wednesday 25th June 2025, 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM at the Saturn Centre
These sessions provide an opportunity to discuss any issues impacting your child's attendance or punctuality. Our staff will be available to listen to your experiences, collaborate on finding solutions, and, if necessary, guide you to relevant support services. Your insights are invaluable in helping us create the best outcomes for your child.
Our Approach to Attendance
Solihull Academy is proudly working with Inclusive Attendance and is focused on emphasising early identification of attendance issues, and building strong relationships with students and families. This child-centred approach aligns with our values, aiming to create a welcoming environment where all students can thrive.
We understand that various factors, such as mental health challenges, housing issues, or transportation difficulties, can affect attendance. Our team is dedicated to working with you to address these barriers, ensuring your child receives the support they need.
Legal Responsibilities and Support
As a parent or carer, you are legally responsible for ensuring your child attends school regularly. Persistent absence can lead to legal consequences, including fines or prosecution. However, our primary goal is to support families in overcoming challenges that hinder attendance. By attending these sessions, you can engage in open dialogue with our staff and access resources designed to assist you and your child.
