At Solihull Academy, we recognise that young people learn in different ways. Our vocational and employability pathways provide opportunities to develop practical skills, gain real-world experience and explore future careers.
These programmes support our Personal Development Strategy by helping pupils build confidence, resilience, independence, positive relationships, healthy lifestyles and employability skills, whilst preparing them for further education, training and employment.

Vision Football Academy
Sport, Healthy Lifestyles and Personal Development
Pupils develop teamwork, resilience, leadership and communication skills through football and sports-based learning. The programme also includes a Healthy Lifestyles qualification, helping pupils develop their understanding of physical health, wellbeing and positive lifestyle choices.
MA Academy
Practical Skills and Employability
Hands-on vocational learning that develops confidence, practical skills and an understanding of future career pathways.
Envirohort
Construction, Horticulture, Motor Vehicle, Childcare, Hair & Beauty
Pupils gain practical experience, industry skills and recognised qualifications across a range of vocational sectors, helping them prepare for further education, training and employment.
The Pump
Catering, Travel & Hospitality, Music, Creative Crafts, Personal Development and Youth Work
Pupils develop practical skills alongside confidence, communication, teamwork and independence through a range of vocational and personal development activities. The programme combines vocational learning with youth work and personal development opportunities to help pupils prepare for adult life.
The King's Trust Achieve Programme
Personal Development and Employability
Delivered within the academy and through some of our vocational partners, the Achieve Programme helps pupils develop confidence, resilience and employability skills. Available from Entry Level to Level 2, it enables pupils to work at a level that meets their individual needs and starting points, supporting successful preparation for adulthood.
South & City College Birmingham
Construction and Post-16 Transition
Designed for pupils interested in construction, this pathway provides access to specialist facilities and industry-based learning. It helps pupils develop practical skills, explore careers within the construction sector and supports a successful transition to college and post-16 education.
Coventry Academy
Construction and Hair & Beauty
Part of the SAPMAT family, Coventry Academy offers pupils the opportunity to explore careers in Construction and Hair & Beauty through practical learning experiences. Pupils benefit from the same relational, inclusive and trauma-informed approaches that underpin learning at Solihull Academy.
